The SST software does not always assign the buttons, keys, axes in FSX automatically and if they are different or missing - problems. You also need to remove duplicate assignments in FSX as that can occur. One thing to remember is that using a Saitek SST profile you need to check in the FSX settings that the same buttons/keys/axes are exactlty the same as those assigned in the SST profile software. Good luck - once again - it's a good controller and Saitek is a good company.Įdit - after just reading your latest reply I fell more that it's a hardware problem requiring contact with Saitek to resolve problem.

Can't imagine anything you could do to fix the problem - sounds to me (I'm not a pro) like a problem for Saitek. What operating system are you using? Not sure that would have any effect but if it's the 7 (since it's new) or Vista (since it's Vista) - who knows?Ĥ. Have you posted your problem on Saitek's tech site?ģ. how old is your X-52? My unit's had a 2 year warrenty, may still be the same.Ģ. Pardon my long winded preamble to answering your question.ġ. Also, I fly GA aircraft in an easy manner - I'm not a fighter jockey. from within FSX - runs much smoother and faster for me. I've had the units now for quite a few years without any problems - so I'm satisfied.įYI I don't use the Profiler at all, I just program buttons etc. Having said that I'm satisfied with the X-52 and Saitek's customer service (sometimes best by posting rather than telephone), it's just that of the 2 units one was replaced once (after about a year) and the other was replaced twice - after 1 day and then months later. Hi Neil - I have 2 of the X-52's, both work well (got second one on a crazy sale) - but my experience with the X-52 is that I had to return them once or twice in order to get one that functions properly over the long run.

If it is the Saitek Panel this too is un-necessary unless you have specific need to program several or combination functions to various buttons, for regular flight the Saitek profiler is not needed, the drivers are of course so make sure you have the proper ones for your X52 and OS.

Now can I assume by your post above you are referring to actually seeing the button presses and axis movements registering in the Game Controllers panel in Windows or the Saitek control panel? Has anybody else had this problem or have any pointers? If not may just need to phone them and ask for a replacement but, I don't think this will help because, as I said in 1) above, it looks like all buttons still function - just not within games.įorget FSUIPC this will just complicate the issue and is totally un-necessary for general / regular flight in FSX unless your needs are specific for certain functions FSUIPC is not needed. I have tried to get some help from the Saitek Website but I can't see anything on the subject. I have un-installed all drivers based on instructions on the Saitek website and reinstalled with the most recent with no success. Here is a very high level of what is going wrong and was hoping someone could help me out:ġ) When in the Saitek Control Panel and I press all the button/ move through the axis the control panel shows that all is working well, with all buttons lighting up when pressed.Ģ) I load up FSX and go for a flight and the buttons no longer work - only the axis works - for example the throttle works and so does the X&Y axis, it's just the buttons do not do the command they have been set to.ģ) Tried it in another game (BF2) and again, the axis responds but the buttons do not. I have the Saitek X52 (not the pro version) and there seems to be a problem with it recognising button presses.
